Maybe you’re way better than I am, but I find that it’s pretty tricky to get people to call you back from leaving a cold voice mail. Right?
Now! That does NOT mean that voice messages aren’t important. They are!

Voice messages are an opportunity to share your style. Your voice. Make a connection. Demonstrate who you are and that you care.
As Anthony Iannarino says, calling on a person and hanging up if they don’t answer is a bit like ringing someone’s doorbell and running away. Why wouldn’t you take the opportunity to give them a flavor of who you are – so that they remember you when you email them or get them on the phone?
At any rate, I was curious about this success. What was new? What worked so well?
And this is what I came up with:
1) Number 1 Reason They Might Be Getting Back to Me:
For the last month, I have been holding myself to a high standard. No matter what, I am going to have a certain number of sales conversations each week. Whatever it takes. Which requires a LOT of outreach to get one conversation. So, I’m getting better at it. More comfortable. More conversational.
PRACTICE – Truly consistent practice makes for significantly improved results! Sales is a hands-on training job!
2) Number 2 Reason They Might Be Getting Back to Me:
I have started pulling up my prospect’s profile on LinkedIn every time I call on them. I look at their picture and know for a fact that I have something valuable to offer to them personally. I speak to their picture as I leave the message!
I wonder if they can sense that I was really talking to THEM when I left the message? Or, maybe they just noticed that I keep viewing their profile and they’re curious. Hmmmm….
3) Number 3 Reason They Might Be Getting Back to Me:
It has nothing to do with me. It’s Fall. The kids are back in school. Vacations are over and it’s time to do business.
